Project Challenges

The University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh is a large, expansive campus and the scope of work for this project extended across 19 different buildings. The nature of college campuses is different buildings built in different eras, each with their own inherent lighting and construction issues. Across the 19 buildings to upgrade, there was a diverse range of different types of fluorescent tubes, T12 and T8, as well as many different types of fixtures.

Project Solutions

To be mindful of budget constraints while achieving desired energy savings, we recommended that we use retrofitting kits where possible. We replaced fluorescent lamps and ballasts with new ballasts and LED tubes. Kits and new fixtures we used when needed. We handled all incentive paperwork for the client to minimize their stress. We worked with Focus on Energy to get this project preapproved and earn the best incentives possible from the get-go, so there’d be no worry about funding the project.
